Tolerance, pesticide residue

The term 'Tolerance, pesticide residue ' as it applies to the area of agriculture can be defined as ' The amount of pesticide residue allowed by regulation to remain in or on a food sold in interstate commerce. Whenever a pesticide is registered for use on a food or a feed crop, a tolerance (or exemption from the tolerance requirement) must be established. The Environmental Protection Agency establishes the tolerance levels, which are enforced by the Food and Drug Administration and USDA'.
